After pre-sales began late last month, BYD today officially launched new variants of its flagship Han family of sedans, priced from RMB 215,800 ($33,900) – RMB 329,800.

The BYD Han was originally launched in July 2020, when an all-electric version, the Han EV, was offered, as well as a plug-in hybrid model, the Han DM. BYD today launched the Han DM-i and Han DM-p models with new options for the EV model.

The Han DM-i focuses on fuel economy with four versions available, three of which have a battery range of 121 km and one of 242 km.

The model has a combined range of up to 1,300 km and a subsidized price range of RMB 215,800 – RMB 289,800, lower than BYD’s pre-sale price range of RMB 216,800 – RMB 292,800 announced late last month.

The Han DM-p is characterized by strong performance, with a 0-100 km/h acceleration time of 3.7 seconds.

Available in only one version, the model has a battery range of 202 km and is priced at RMB 319,800, down from a pre-sale price of RMB 322,800.

In addition to the new variants of the Han DM, BYD today also launched three new variants of what it calls the Han EV Founding Edition, including one version with a range of 610 km and two versions with a range of 715 km.

These three new Han EV variants are priced at RMB 288,600, RMB 287,500 and RMB 269,800 respectively.

On top of that, BYD announced a limited edition green version of the Han EV on April 4, with a green theme from exterior to interior.
