Two weeks after revealing the first image of the all-new Wuling JiaChen, SAIC-GM-Wuling has just officially announced the new compact size MPV. General Motors’ second joint venture in China released two new images of the Wuling JiaChen and announced that the upcoming model will arrive in the Asian country’s dealerships in the second quarter of the year.

SGMW reports that the all-new Wuling Jia Chen is a seven-seat multipurpose vehicle capable of satisfying the needs of a wide range of customers, thanks to its simple yet modern design and highly modular interior configuration. In fact, the breadth of the new JiaChen’s business approach is reflected in the translation of its name in Mandarin, which means “good morning,” a universal greeting appropriate for all kinds of people.

Aesthetically, the new Wuling JiaChen adopts the “wing dynamic aesthetics” design language of the brand’s latest generation vehicles with the silver logo, and shares several elements with the brand’s first crossover. As such, the JiaChen sports clean-lined bodywork as well as a distinctive front end made up of a generous V-shaped grille and rectangular LED headlights, a solution quite similar to that of the Wuling Asta.

As an MPV built by Wuling, Jiachen adopts the latest silver label design and uses the Wuling silver label family’s wing-moving aesthetic design language. The front face looks capable and stylish, and the new V-shaped air intake grille has a great visual effect. It is three-dimensional, the design of the headlight group is connected to the grille, and the shape of the lower bumper also highlights the sporty effect.

At present, the official has not disclosed too much information about the new car. We only know that the interior will adopt a 2+2+N three-row seat design. It is expected that the third row of seats will provide different seats according to different user needs. From the previously exposed spy photos, we can still preview the interior design style of the new car in advance, which is relatively simple as a whole. The shape of the steering wheel and the air-conditioning control area are basically the same as those of the Wuling Star.

In terms of power, judging from the information previously reported by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, the new car will be equipped with a 1.5T engine with a maximum power of 147 horsepower (108 kilowatts).
